Online Reporting

Online reports are intended for non-emergency offenses that do not require a police officer to respond to the scene. Not all incidents may be reported online.

Call 9-1-1 if:

  • There is immediate danger to people or property
  • A crime is happening right now
  • The suspect is still on scene

You can file an online report for:

  • Assault (excluding domestic violence)
  • Burglary
  • Child Custody Court Order Violation (for documentation only)
  • Fraud, Financial Crimes, and Identity Theft
  • Harassment
  • Hit and Run
  • Not Paying for Services Rendered
  • Theft, Shoplifting and Lost Property (with a value under $10,000)
  • Threats (not involving schools or large gatherings)
  • Trespassing
  • Vandalism
  • Vehicle Burglary

After the Report is Submitted

  • After completing your report, it will be forwarded to the South Jordan Police Department for review. You will also receive a temporary case number for your records.
  • You may be notified by email if any further information is needed prior to your report being approved.
  • Upon approval of your submission, you will receive an email advising that your approved report has been issued an official case number.

Supplemental Reports

Follow-up reports are also accepted online. Simply mention you have additional information for a previous case number, and the system will link your follow-up to the original. Digital evidence, such as photos, videos, or documents, may be added to online reports.

Non-Emergency Dispatch

Non-emergency reports may be made through dispatch at 801-840-4000.
