UDOT CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: I-15 PAVEMENT REPAIRS 

Project Description:

Crews will repair pavement on I-15 in both northbound and southbound lanes.

Location:

Interstate 15 (I-15), between 10600 South and 9000 South

Schedule:

Spring through the end of the year

What to Expect:

• Nighttime lane closures in both directions
• Possible traffic delays

U-111 Extension Project in South Jordan and Herriman

Construction is beginning on the U-111 extension in South Jordan and Herriman. This project will improve regional mobility and support current and future growth in the area.

Construction Start Date:

Work is anticipated to begin as early as Monday, February 9, 2026.

Location:

Initial construction activity will occur near 11800 South in South Jordan.

Work Schedule:

Construction will take place as weather permits.

Project Duration:

The project is expected to be completed by summer 2027.

Schedule Updates:

Road Closures for South Station Plat 6

South Jordan City will begin construction for the South Station Plat 6 project. This work includes building a new road and installing new water main, storm drain, and sewer lines. Existing roads will also be milled and overlaid.

To reduce impacts, road closures will be scheduled separately to keep access open as much as possible. Different traffic control plans will be used for each phase of work.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Freestone Road will be closed until January 23, 2026.

Scheduled Road Closures:

• Freestone Road: Closed January 20–23, January 26–30, and April 15
• Grandville Avenue: Closed April 20
• Lake Avenue: Closed April 21

Dates are subject to change due to weather or construction conditions.

Scope of the Project

Starting as early as Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the Jordan Basin Improvement District will begin upsizing sewer infrastructure along 11000 South in Sandy and South Jordan (see map below).

This project will replace several sections of the existing sewer trunkline with larger pipes to support future growth in the area.

Construction will begin on the west end of the project near The Gables at Sterling Village HOA. The project is expected to be completed by late fall 2026.

Work will typically occur Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Weekend or nighttime work will take place only when necessary.

Construction Impacts

This project requires digging trenches to remove and replace sewer lines, as well as underground boring beneath I-15 and the railroad.

• Driveway access for businesses and residences may be temporarily closed at times during construction. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact the project team using the information below.
• Lane closures and lane shifts will occur near active work areas. Motorists should expect delays and use caution.
• Parking may be limited or unavailable near the construction zone.
• Nearby residents and businesses may experience temporary noise, odors, dust, vibrations, and brief interruptions to sewer service during construction activities.

City of South Jordan Intersection Signal & Lighting Upgrades

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is upgrading traffic signal equipment and roadway lighting at approximately 20 intersections in South Jordan.

This work is part of a larger effort to modernize signal and lighting systems throughout UDOT Region 2.

What to Expect

• Work will be localized to individual intersections, and construction impacts will be contained and temporary.
• Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Travelers can expect:

• Temporary shoulder closures
• Brief lane shifts
• Reduced speeds in work zones

Schedule

• Work at each intersection is expected to last from a few hours to a few days.
• Crews may return to certain intersections if additional materials are needed to complete the upgrades.
