Justice Court Closure Notice

The South Jordan Justice Court will close effective June 30, 2026. Beginning July 1, 2026, any South Jordan cases will be transferred to the Salt Lake County Justice Court for processing.

We understand this transition may raise questions, and we appreciate your patience as we work through the details. This page will be updated as more information about the transition becomes available.

Small claims filings are accepted Monday through Thursday no later than 5 pm.

*Please note: South Jordan Justice Court does not use online dispute resolution (ODR) in small claims cases.

Misdemeanor Offenses

  • Class C misdemeanors can run from $0 to $1,052.50 and 0 to 90 days in jail
  • Class B misdemeanors can run from $0 to $1,940 and 0 to 180 days in jail
