SoJo Soccer Rules U4-U8

FIELD: 30yds x 20yds (U4, U5, U6, U7-Spring) 40yds x 25yds (U7-Summer, U8) Goal 4ft x 6ft.

BALL SIZE: Size 3

TEAMS: 4 v 4 (U4, U5, U6, U7-Spring), 5 v 5 (U7-Summer, U8) Teams must have at least 3 by the start of the game. NO GOALIES!!

SUBSTITUTION: Coaches will substitute on the fly.

LENGTH OF GAME: 10-15 minute warmup practice, (4) 8-minute qtrs. 3-minute Halftime

START OF GAME: U4-U8 Coaches will start games.

END OF GAME: U4-U8 Coaches will end games.

REFEREES: U4-U8 Coaches will act as officials.

OFFSIDES: There are no offsides.

SCORING: The ball must be across the midfield for the goal to count.

KICK-IN (U4-U6): A kick-in is awarded to the opponents of the player who last touched the ball when the whole of the ball passes over the touchline, on the ground, or in the air. The player can kick the ball into play at the point where it left the field of play.

THROW-IN (U7-U8): A throw-in is awarded to the opponents of the player who last touched the ball when the whole of the ball passes over the touchline, on the ground, or in the air. Keep both feet on the ground and throw the ball with both hands from behind and over the head from the point where it left the field of play.

GOAL KICK (U4-U8): A goal kick is awarded when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, on the ground, or in the air, having last touched a player of the attacking team, and a goal is not scored. Place the ball on the goal line next to the goal and kick it in.

CORNER KICK (U4-U8): A corner kick is awarded when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, on the ground, or in the air, having last touched a player of the defending team, and a goal is not scored. Place the ball in the corner area nearest to the point where it left the field and can kick it in.

SLIDING: Players may not slide in this league.

UNIFORMS: South Jordan Soccer reversible green/silver

EQUIPMENT: Shoes and shin guards must be worn. No medal cleats.

SPECTATORS: Must remain on the outside of the game field.
