South Jordan is entering an exciting new chapter — one filled with grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and major milestones that will shape our city for years to come. As we move into spring and summer, we’ll welcome new businesses, entertainment venues, and transportation enhancements that will bring additional opportunities and services to our residents and visitors.

One of the most anticipated events of the year is the opening of The Ballpark at America First Square, the new home of the Salt Lake Bees. This state-of-the-art stadium will serve as the heart of Downtown Daybreak, a vibrant urban center in South Jordan, designed to bring together commerce, entertainment, and residential living. This development will be a major boost to our city’s economy, providing a gathering space for families, businesses, and sports fans alike. This project will offer a mix of commercial, residential, performing arts, and recreational opportunities in the fastest-growing part of Salt Lake County. The area will feature:

  • Numerous restaurants and cafés
  • Entertainment venues
  • High-end and service-based retail
  • A hotel
  • Office spaces and businesses
  • Recreational amenities
  • Performing arts
  • Access to transit

Adding to the excitement, the Larry H. Miller Megaplex Cinema-Entertainment Center is set to open this summer, bringing state-of-the-art movie experiences, bowling, arcade, dining, and entertainment for all ages. With these new additions, South Jordan is quickly becoming a premier destination for both recreation and business.

Beyond the urban center, there’s even more happening throughout the city! In the coming months, we’ll see new businesses opening in other areas, enhancements to parks and recreation, including six new pickleball courts at East Riverfront Park, and continued investment in roads and infrastructure to support our growing community. These developments ensure that no matter where you live in South Jordan, we are making exciting progress to help you live, work, play, and get where you’re going better.

Through it all, South Jordan remains committed to smart, long-term planning. We continue to enhance transportation corridors, invest in efficient roadways, conserve water, and expand outdoor recreation—all while fostering sustainable economic growth. Our goal is to make sure South Jordan remains one of the best places to live and do business.

With so many exciting projects ahead, South Jordan’s future has never looked brighter. I look forward to celebrating these milestones with you and hope to see you at a ribbon cutting soon!
