SWAT Response to Protective Order Violation
South Jordan, Utah - February 18, 2026
At approximately 8p.m., a 22-year-old male unlawfully entered his family's residence near South Jordan Parkway and 2950 West in violation of an active protective order. Family members were able to safely leave the home shortly after the suspect entered and promptly contacted law enforcement.
Responding officers arrived and observed the suspect inside the residence actively punching walls and yelling. Officers made multiple public announcements directing the suspect to exit the home: however, the suspect refused to comply.
Due to the suspect's noncompliance, the South Valley SWAT and Negotiation Teams were requested. After repeated attempts to establish communication were unsuccessful, the tactical team made entry into the home. The suspect was safely taken into custody and booked into The Salt Lake County Jail.
A shelter in place was issued during the active situation and has since been lifted. There is currently no threat to the public.
The South Valley SWAT and Negotiation Team is comprised of members from the South Jordan, Riverton, Draper, and Herriman Police Departments.
