America250 in South Jordan
In 2026, South Jordan will join communities across Utah and the nation in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
America250 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history, celebrate our shared values, build community, and look toward the future. Through local events, educational programs, arts and culture, and service-oriented experiences, South Jordan is proud to partner with America250 Utah to help residents of all ages see themselves in America’s story.

What Is America250?
America250, also known as the Semiquincentennial, marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Across Utah, America250 activities focus on:
- Educating communities about our shared history
- Engaging residents through culture, service, and storytelling
- Uniting people around the values of democracy, liberty, and belonging
Utah’s approach recognizes the full and complex history of our state and nation, honoring Indigenous peoples, early settlers, and generations of Americans who have shaped our past and present.
