SOUTH JORDAN, UT – January 20, 2024— The Larry H. Miller Company recently announced that the company hosted Major League Baseball’s Athletics on a tour of the new ballpark site in South Jordan as a potential temporary home for the team as its stadium is being built in Las Vegas.
“The City of South Jordan is ready to embrace the opportunity of hosting a Major League Baseball team and would love to welcome the Athletics to our community,” said South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey. “Our community has a rich history of baseball with a legacy that dates back to the South Jordan Red Gales. We continue to foster a love for the game today through our very popular youth baseball programs.”
The construction of a new state-of-the-art ballpark, surrounded by a family-friendly entertainment district and easily accessible via TRAX or the Mountain View Corridor, positions us as an ideal host. This new venue in South Jordan, known as “Downtown Daybreak,” is set to become a favorite destination for folks across the Wasatch Front.
“Along with our partners from the Larry H. Miller Company, we are prepared to roll out the red carpet, showcasing South Jordan as one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic areas in the state,” said Mayor Ramsey.
The City is excited about this potential partnership and the myriad of possibilities it would bring to our community, and we affirm our commitment to being a welcoming home for MLB and the Athletics.
